Chris and I went to parent-teacher conference this week. We spent a few minutes with both Ms. Yawn (Konnor's teacher) and Mrs. Atkisson (Kendel's teacher). KONNOR received a 4 in all areas which means "The student has an understanding of the concept and can perform its skills and processes". He also received Excellent in his work and social skills. Comments from the teacher, "Reading level Z is well above third grade level. Top Student". KENDEL received a 4 in all but 1 area and Excellent in all of her work and social skills. Her teacher said, "Kendel is above grade in reading. At her reading level N she scored all 4s in concepts of print, phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension". We are proud of both of them and excited for their desires to learn. It always helps when you really enjoy your teacher, which is especially the case for Kendel. I still haven't made it into their classrooms but hope to within the next few weeks.
